Camier still waiting for Aprilia decision

British Superbike champion Leon Camier is still facing an agonising wait to hear if he will be partnering Max Biaggi on the factory Aprilia WSB squad in 2010. Camier rode for the Italian manufacturer at the final two rounds of the championship and also completed a two-day test on the bike in Portugal last week.
During his time on the bike, the 23 year old Brit has impressed the squad, but despite his strong results is still unconfirmed for 2010.
Speaking to MCN, Camier’s manager Andy Walker said:
“We’re still waiting on a definite decision. It’s looking positive but until they actually contact us and say the deal is done, we don’t know for sure.”
One reason for the delay could be dependent on whether Aprilia will support a second team in the championship. In recent months the chances of there being a second team have gone from being very good to unlikely and now seem to be more positive again with a number of teams in discussion about leasing bikes.
Should a second team run, Britain’s Shane Byrne would be well placed to secure a ride.
