Eight years after American Colin Edwards won the WSB crown in 2002, Castrol Honda are back. In an official launch at Castrol’s Technology Centre in Berkshire today the new look team was officially unveiled.

Riders Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus were at the launch where the world’s media got their first chance to see the return of the iconic Castrol livery.

Speaking to MCN, Rea said: “I can remember rushing home from a schoolboy motocross race to watch Colin (Edwards) win the race at Imola in front of Troy (Bayliss). Now I’m riding for the team so to say that I’m proud is an understatement!”

The Castrol Honda team run by Ten Kate Honda will now head to a two day test at Aragon on Thursday and Friday where they will get to evaluate new electronics and chassis components.

For the full story of the launch and the team’s Aragon test see MCN out Wednesday 26th January.
