Biaggi retires from racing

Six time world champion Max Biaggi has announced that he will retire from racing. The 41 year old Italian addressed a packed press conference in Vallelunga in his native city of Rome this morning where he revealed his decision to stop racing.

Biaggi has enjoyed a spectacular career than has spanned over two decades competing in 250GP, 500GP, MotoGP and WSB. His first world title came way back in 1994 with his most recent success coming this year when he won the WSB title for the second time.

Speculation surrounding Biaggi’s future has been on-going throughout 2012, but when he elected to complete in a two day test at Aragon after the final round of the championship many believed that he’d made his decision to continue.

Biaggi’s decision throws the Aprilia Racing team into turmoil, leaving them without their number one rider.
