Sykes, Laverty & Rea on front row after Superpole

The wet weather of Portimao played a large part in today’s Superpole session for the FIM World Superbike Championship with a combined, wet and twenty minute session of Superpole being declared.

This session saw Sykes narrowly taking first spot on the grid by just a single, thousandth of a second from Eugene Laverty and an improved Jonathan Rea in third.

The second row of the grid sees GoldBet BMW Motorrad rider Melandri, Laverty’s Aprilia teammate Guintoli and Syke’s Kawasaki KRT stable-mate Loris Baz rounding out the top six.
