World Supersport: Tommy Hill frustrated but recovering at home

1 of 1

Tommy Hill is continuing to recover from his testing injuries sustained last month and is now back at home after spending last week in hospital.

Following surgery on his femur, pelvis and ankle in Spain, Tommy Hill suffered a blood infection and suspected deep vein thrombosis upon arriving back in the UK, but after an intensive course of antibiotic and a stay in Redhill hospital in Surrey, he is recovering well.

Due to the seriousness of his injuries it is still unclear when he will be able to get back on a motorcycle again, but despite this the 22-year-old Brit is remaining upbeat about his predicament.

Speaking to MCN, Tommy Hill said: “It’s been a nightmare, but I’m back at home now and I’m feeling better in myself. I’ve still got a long way to go, but I’ve been able to see specialist orthopaedic surgeons about my injuries.

“At the moment I’m not going anywhere because I’m in a wheelchair as I can’t put any weight on either of my legs which is frustrating. Going from racing bikes and training in the gym everyday to being sat in my mum’s kitchen in a wheelchair doing a jig saw puzzle hasn’t been easy that’s for sure.”
