While the world waits to see if Carl Fogarty can pull off a deal to run factory MV Agusta machinery in WSB, an enterprising team have already finalised their plans to race two of the exotic Italian four-cylinder bikes in Britain.

Trackstar Racing have confirmed they will field Brian McCormack in BSB and Martin Buckles in the National Superstock series on F4 1000Rs.

Buckles, runner-up in the 2006 National Superstock Cup series added: “I’m really happy to be given this chance to ride a full factory machine.

“I know there will be a lot of learning to be done during winter testing but we have full support from MV Agusta and we are very positive.

“I know all the circuits so it’ll just be a question of set-up and adapting my racing style a little before I’m at the front challenging.”

Trackstar have linked up with the Everyman Campaign – to raise awareness of male cancer.

They will be holding special events, dinners and charity auctions to raise money to fund vital new research to find better treatments and methods of diagnosis.

McCormack said: “If you think racing a 200mph superbike is scary, think about the risks of having cancer.

“What I and thousands of guys don’t think about is that male cancer is one of the biggest killers of men in the UK.

“It is important that we should know the facts about testicular and prostate cancer, which is why the team and I are fully committed to raising awareness.”
