Former 125 British title–winning team UK1 Racing are continuing their philosophy of fostering new young riders.

They have announced they have signed 14-year-old Connor Behan alongside 13-year-old Deane Brown on a pair of Fabrication Techniques-framed RS125 Hondas.

UK1 Racing won the 2004 125 British title with Christian Elkin and have a long tradition of seeking out talented young riders and helping them to develop their skills.

Behan was runner-up in the 2006 Aprilia Superteen Challenge and also the ACU Star Championship and holds lap records for the Snetterton and Pembrey circuits.

He said: “I’m really excited to join UK1. I am determined to work really hard and prove how well I can ride.”

Brown, from Motherwell, is the current Scottish F125 champion and a former MiniMoto National champion.

He’s also on the reserve list of five riders for the Red Bull Rookies Cup which is being run at selected rounds of this year’s MotoGP races.

Niall MacKenzie, former GP500 factory rider and two-time British Superbike champion is working with UK1 Racing this year as a mentor for the two young riders.

He said: “I’m really pleased with our choice of riders this season. Both have a natural ability and are keen to improve their skills.

“I‘m looking forward to working with both riders and seeing them improve over the course of the season.”
