Dan Linfoot came crashing back down to earth in Assen after the high of his brilliant ninth place in the British MotoGP.
Aprilia rider Linfoot crashed three times at the Ruskenhoek corner in Holland - twice in practice and once in the race – which ruled him out of 23rd on lap 11.
The 18-year-old said: “That was coming back down to earth with a big smash after Donington. I think they’ll have to rename it Linfoot corner.
“I’m pissed off because I’ve had three crashes there and this is a really good chance for me in this team for the rest of the season. I was getting faster so went into that corner on the brakes later.
“That meant I was in faster and had to carry more lean angle to make the turn but when I cracked the throttle it high-sided me.”
Dan Linfoot’s bike travelled for over 250 metres before finally coming to a rest and he added: “I got up to look for the bike to get back but it wasn’t even in sight.”
