British GP: Bradley Smith 15th fastest in dry Saturday free practice session at Donington Park

Bradley Smith missed out on moving into the top five of the second free practice session for the 125s after making a couple of mistakes on his final flying lap.
Smith was on for a fourth fastest time according to the third split on his final lap, but the British youngster missed his apex at the Melbourne Loop and ran wide going into Goddards leaving him down in 15th spot.
Fifteenth wasn’t a true reflection of Smith’s pace – with 13 minutes of the session left Smith moved to second quickest, but that time was soon pushed down in the final stages of the session and his last lap mistakes meant no improvement for the Repsol Honda rider.
Mattia Pasini set the fastest lap of the session and was consistently the quickest guy out there for the majority of the running.
The Polaris World Aprilia rider has had little luck this season so far but showed his pace this morning by being the first rider to duck under 1.40secs and 1.39secs and the only rider to finish with a 1.38secs – a 1.38.904.
Mike Di Meglio was another consistently quick rider and ended the session second fastest in front of Pasini’s team-mate Juan Olive.
The session only saw two crashers, Robert Muresan at the end of the session at Goddards and Stefano Bianco at Coppice in the last 15 minutes.
The 125cc boys will be out again at 13.05 for their qualifying session.
