Dutch MotoGP: No beating Jorge Lorenzo on 250 grid

The wet conditions played their part for the 250s in the second qualifying practice this afternoon resulting in Jorge Lorenzo continuing his dominance on the weekend so far. 

Although it was Honda’s Andrea Dovizioso on the top of the timesheets in the qualifying two practice, Jorge Lorenzo’s 1:39.958 from yesterday was unbeaten to leave him on pole position for tomorrow’s 250 race.

Andrea Dovizioso finished in second for the grid with his 1:40.681 from yesterday on his KTM while Alvaro Bautista (Aprilia) is third following a 1:41.128 from qualifying one.

Completing the front row is Hiroshi Aoyama. The Japanese rider secured his front row spot yesterday with a 1:41.226 but was hampered by the rain today and could only manage a 1:55.034 in 13th place.

Ireland’s Eugene Laverty will start from row six following his 1:44.148 from yesterday. His best time in the second qualifying session was a 1:57.468.

Yuki Takahashi and Ronald Beitler (both Honda) will not take to the grid after failing to make the required 107 per cent time of 1:59.229.
