Michael Rutter stranded in Bangkok airport chaos

If Michael Rutter thought his week couldn’t get much worse after losing his ride with the North West 200 Ducati team this week, the Blade is reportedly now stranded in Thailand due to the protesting problems at Bangkok airport.

Anti-government protestors have taken over the control tower of the country’s main airport which has grounded all flights today.

Rutter was due to fly back to the UK today after staying out in Thailand for a holiday following his second place finish at the Macau GP.

British Superbike Series Director Stuart Higgs told MCN: “I’ve spoken to Michael today and he’s currently stuck in Bangkok with what is happening at the airport at the moment.”

Rutter is trying to return to the UK in time for the NEC Motorcycle Show which opens tomorrow.

With Rutter still looking for a ride for 2009 it could be essential for him to attend the show to kick-start some discussions.
