Vallelunga WSB: Bayliss tops superpole session

Troy Bayliss has backed up his performance in the qualifying sessions by coming out top in superpole.

Bayliss, who finished fastest in the 2nd qualifying session and 3rd in the first session, continues to be on top form this weekend. Fellow Australian Troy Corser wasn’t far behind in superpole, lapping the Italian circuit just over one tenth of a second slower than his compatroit.

Noriyuki Haga, who had a couple of nasty crashes this weekend and didn’t fair too well in the second qualifying session, came out fighting in superpole to take third place.

Max Biaggi took fourth place, leaving Kiyonari to take fifth and Nuekirchner in sixth.

British rider Chris Walker came in 26th on the timesheets.
