James Toseland happy with new clutch

James Toseland reckons one of the few positives to come out of a tough Brno race and test session was a new Yamaha YZR-M1 clutch he tested.

Struggling with the poor performance of his Michelin tyres, Toseland could only finish 13th in the Czech Republic, though he did make some progress with a clutch given to his Tech 3 squad to evaluate.

The double World Superbike champion told MCN: “The new clutch was really good for the back-shifting. It made it smooth so it doesn’t upset the rear tyre and it doesn’t lock up as much so that’s a good step.”
