Cadwell Park British Superbikes: Haslam wins race one

1 of 1

Leon Haslam has taken the win in the first British Superbikes race at Cadwell Park after a race-long battle with Tom Sykes.

Sykes lead the first half of the race but Haslam was always on his back until he managed to slip past at the end of Park straight.

Sykes was fighting hard to stay with the HM Plant  Honda rider but had a front end slide at the hairpin on lap 14 and dropped enough to let Haslam comfortably take the win.

Cal Crutchlow was sitting in third place after the start but he couldn’t keep up with the pace set by Haslam and Sykes and ended up slipping to sixth.

Michael Rutter managed to hold off the Airwaves Ducati boys for 10 laps but Shane Byrne slipped past to take third followed by Leon Camier a lap later.

Top five positions:
Leon Haslam
Tom Sykes
Shayne Byrne
Leon Camier
Michael Rutter
