MotoGP Qatar test: Anthony West escapes injury in big crash

1 of 1

Kawasaki’s Anthony West has had a lucky escape after he was uninjured in a big crash on the first night of testing under floodlights in Qatar.

The Aussie lost control of his factory Kawasaki ZX-RR at the last corner, but was able to return to the track shortly after 11pm after being cleared by doctors at the circuit’s medical centre.

Anthony West walked away relatively unscathed, though his Kawasaki ZX-RR was severely damaged in the incident after it cart-wheeled through the gravel.

Kawasaki bosses though had obvious worries about West’s welfare as picking up and injury so late in the pre-season would have had disastrous consequences.
