Sachsenring MotoGP: Casey Stoner qualifies in pole position for the German MotoGP

1 of 1

Casey Stoner went out on track at the Sachsenring for the MotoGP qualifying session and smashed the lap record he set only yesterday, by a further half a second, giving him pole position for tomorrow’s German GP.

Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa qualified second on the grid and Colin Edwards rounds out the first row in third position on his Tech 3 Yamaha. Colin’s team mate James Toseland finished in 11th place, roughly a second off the pace set by the Marlboro Ducati rider, Casey Stoner.

Despite finishing just behind Stoner in free practise yesterday, Alex de Angelis will start in 10th place on the grid at tomorrow’s German MotoGP.
