Jorge Lorenzo fit for British MotoGP

Jorge Lorenzo has vowed to adopt a more cautious approach after being given clearance to ride in this weekend’s British MotoGP.

The Spaniard missed his home race in Catalunya earlier this month after suffering severe concussion in a massive high-side in practice.

But he will be back on his Fiat Yamaha YZR-M1 at Donington Park this weekend having made a full recovery.

Lorenzo, who hasn’t scored a point in his last two races after also crashing out in Mugello, said: “It has been a tough couple of weeks for me and watching the Barcelona race from my hospital bed wasn’t much fun so I’m looking forward to getting back on the bike, although I think I have to ride a little more cautiously this weekend.

“It is like starting again from scratch so I have to change my approach.

“I have great memories of Donington. I won the 250 race in 2006 and last year I was riding really well in the wet.

“It is a fast circuit, other than the final section, and it will be interesting to ride there on a MotoGP bike for the first time.”
