Tommy Hill re-breaks right femur in Nurburgring crash

Britain’s Tommy Hill faces another long stint on the sidelines after re-breaking the right femur he broke last year at the Nurburgring earlier today.
The Hannspree Altea Honda rider was one of many to crash out of the World Supersport race. He was missing from the restart and it has now been confirmed by the team that Hill has broken his right femur again.
Hill made his return to racing at the Nurburgring this weekend after almost nine months out after his horror crash in Spain last November when also he broke his left ankle and pelvis as well as later suffering a blood infection.
After qualifying in eighth place it looked lie the 23-year-old was back on form, but this latest set-back is likely to see him miss another large chunk of his already much shortened season.
Hill is currently being driven back to England and will head immediately to the Redhill Hospital in Surrey where he received treatment after his testing crash.
MCN will have more news on Hill’s latest injuries and reaction from the team in this week’s edition, out Wednesday, June 18, 2008.
