The Hydrex Bike Animal Honda British Superbike team have headed off to Spain for last minute preparations just a week before the start of the new season at Brands Hatch next weekend.

Team owner Shaun Muir has secured baking from Bike Animal who will join existing sponsors Hydrex and will have former MotoGP rider James Ellison and successful road racer Guy Martin on the latest Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade.

The motorcycles arrived later than planned and with snow affecting the Snetterton test over the Easter weekend, the Hydrex Bike Anmimal Honda team are now in the middle of an extensive week of testing at Croft and Knockhill before heading off to Almeria and Calafat in Spain.

Team boss, Shaun Muir, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Bike Animal into the team and of course, are very pleased to continue our long term association with Hydrex.

“This is going to be an exciting season for Hydrex Bike Animal Honda what with James coming back to BSB and Guy continuing his great form from last year.

“Circumstances haven’t helped recently but over this next week, we plan on getting our bikes and riders up to speed and come Brands Hatch, I’m confident that we’ll be very well prepared.”

James Ellison is a former World Endurance and European Superstock Champion. He also won the British Superbike Cup in 2004 and heads back to the British championship after racing in America last year.

Guy Martin will race in both the British Superbike Championship and also head to the road races to tackle the Isle of Man TT, North West 200 and Ulster GP.
