Max Biaggi finished the Kyalami test an encouraging eighth fastest onboard the all new Aprilia RSV4. The Italian remained satisfied with the progress he and the team had made, but sighted corner entry and chatter as two areas that have to be improved to allow him to fight at the front.
MCN caught up with the MotoGP and World Superbike race winner mid way through the final day for his thoughts on the three day South African test.

Difficult to say with max , but i don,t think he,s totally happy.Last year he dominated testing on a bike he,d never raced and seemed like his old self. but at the moment his comments about the bike remind me of when he was at factory honda moto gp, he goes for it only if everythings perfect if not he just collects the pay chq.Nakano might give us more of a pre-season clue about the bike.I really hope they get this bike a winner from day one, and the dukes get a good hiding now and again.Roll on next test we,ll see then.
whatever happens its one awesome looking road bike

I personally like Max 'cos he doesn't care what he says or who he upsets, he is just focused on himself, totally selfish, in other words "a racer"...I think he's just riding around at the moment getting the bike sorted & I don't think you'll see him going for a time until we're closer to the start of the season...he seemed much too laid back in the interview & if he was at odds with the bike, he would've been stressed & he wasn't...the bike looks like Honda's motogp bike & sounds like Yamaha's motogp bike...IMO...also, its seems unusual that every rider, from development through to race riders, that have been involved in the project are all from motogp, its even very stiff framed like a motogp bike & due to that is even getting motogp probs like chatter...maybe I'm just reading too much into it...

Biaggi gives nothing away, it could be the quickest bike out of the box and only he would know, he wouldnt show his hand if it was, if it was rubbish he wouldnt give us a hint either. Sector times in practice may give us a clue, but probably nothing until the first race where he will end up third or fourth and tell us they made a few adjustments just before the race which seem to have worked. He will throw everything at this year to get the best position possible and target the following year for the title.

Satisfied you say??
Ha! Is Mr Biaggi ever happy with anything!??
I don't know about you but for once Max actually sounded like a fairly decent chap. Perhaps its because he knows that if he f***s it up with the Aprilia outfit he's going to have no options left in WSBK or MotoGP... Therefore it'll be career over. Bless.
