Top Five sporty 600 Insurance Bargains

We’ve researched insurance costs for the most popular sporty 600’s on MCN Compare to bring you the cheapest five to insure. MCN Compare brings together top insurance brokers to make sure you aren’t paying over the odds to insure your bike. Here are the top five insurance bargains…

1. Honda CBR 600 F (1995-1996)

The Honda CBR600F was, and remains, a brilliant motorcycle with real power and excitement but with the added practicalities to make it a contender for just about anyone’s garage.

2. Suzuki GSX-R600 (1996-2000)

A raw, involving, lunatic on wheels. The more throttle-happy you are with it, the more the Suzuki GSX-R600 will thrill. Virtually dead low down, wake it up at higher revs and you’ll be clinging on for dear life. Not as finely honed as today’s Suzuki GSX-R600 but, for some, that just adds to the manic appeal. Ridiculous, dangerous fun.

3. Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja (1995-1997)

Kawasaki’s F-series ZX-6R was, in its day, a serious contender to the middleweight crown of Honda’s CBR600. It can still raise a smile it can feel harsh and crude when compared with todays metal but is definitely worth a look if buying on a budget.

4. Yamaha YZF-R6 (1998-2003)

Hardcore, know the score. The Yamaha YZF-R6 is a sexy uber-capable track bike that works on the road too. It caught the 600 race rep class napping and nothing came close until Suzuki launched its 2001 GSX-R600 – that’s a long time to rule the 600 roost and shows just how good the original Yamaha YZF-R6 was.

5. Honda CBR 600 RR (2003-2004)

Barely related to the long-running all-round Honda CBR600F – the Honda CBR600RR is a track biased missile – and an excellent one. On the road, the ‘F’ version is a better bet for most with a more roomy riding position, stable handling and a less revvy engine but get the Honda CBR600RR on the track and it’s in its element.
