Please give me an insight so I can jump on and head off with a little experienced voice in the back of my mind telling me what to expect.Appreciate it. Fingers crossed for Friday! Shoulder check. I'm doing my DAS at the moment, enjoying it, and considering what bike to buy. My instructor recommended, since I want to do touring and long distances on motorways, that I get nothing smaller than a 900-1000cc. However, I have a gravel drive, and a ramp up to a single garage, and I'm concerned about manouvering that sort of weight.A friend recommends a BMW F800, with a low seat. But I'm not *that* small. Is a 1000cc first bike for a woman a nuts idea? Has anyone any experience / recommendations? Thanks,Jake
Hello! New to the forums,I was hoping to ask you guys for some help. I'm looking to start riding within the year, I've already saved up some money to pay for tests, licences etc. I've however hit the dilemma of where to keep my future bike. I've just finished my first year of uni, thus I've moved to a new flat with bicycle storage. The road I am on itself, I do not trust (Just off Gloucester Road for those of you who know Bristol). There is a residential area nearby I can rent a driveway, but is way out of ...
I had a CBT license a few years back 2009 and ridden for almost 2 years untill my scooter got stolen. and now I want to get back at riding. I read about license which looks like it changed and I'm confuse with the A1, A2 and so on. ( I don't have a driving license and I'm 30)so here is my questions:A) To ride a 125cc do i need to do another CBT or just pay to have it reknew? and do DVLA keep record of CBT?B) A2 license: If I understand it correctly you need to be over 24, ...
I'm 17, almost 18, and currently have my CBT and ride a YZF R125. I work in London but live outside of London and wish to commute on the motorway once I've passed my A1 license. I'm wondering whether there is a better bike option for me to use to commute in to London, perhaps a bigger CC but restricted output and power, because I hear from people that at my age they have bigger restricted bikes, but when I look up the law on the internet it's hard to find where it states that that is legal. Thanks
So i took my Mod1 for the first time today, it was chucking it down with rain and very windy to the point i couldnt hear the examiner nor the bike properly. Fortunate enough due to studying and practice at a local school i knew the manoeuvres like the back of my hand and even tho very windy managed to comfortably do all the manoeuvres with no mistake. Then came the so ive been reading DREADED hazard avoidance test i exited the bend well around 18mph and sped up to the required speed easy the problem arose when i threw ...
Hi All, I have just passed my A license this week, I used to ride many years ago but never took the test, my age is 53.I took my test on a Honda NC700, nice bike, nice seat height as well. This brings me to my question, I'm looking into buying a bike, Like the Honda cbr600f or 1000. But it's the seat height, how does one decide on the bike, might seem a daft question, or can seat's be lifted up ?The Honda was nice but just need a bit more power.Has anyone got any alternatives ideas.
Hi All!Finally (about 2 years after getting rid of the trusty old NSR) got round to doing my Cat A2! *woop*I'm looking for some advice on a good first bike... I love the look of Ninjas and GSXRs, but I don't even need to quote the insurance to know its unfeasible just now I've been told that a Kawasaki ER-6f is a good way to go until I've got a few years experience and my full unrestricted license (I'm only 21 ) Any thoughts on this? I'm looking to get it on finance and ...
