Rear view helmets

I think it's a great idea, I see what you mean about glare but they claim "The helmet has multiple reflective surfaces that reduce the intensity of light significantly." (source  Rear view helmet) I understand they have made their second rear view helmet already (2010 model) with improvements, I am tempted to order one if they really are as good as advertised.

not convinced

reckon it would be more of a distraction. Besides although I look behind (mostly for police cars/ BMW 5 series estates in grey with a funny looking grill and some grumpy git in a stabvest behind the wheel) most of the real dangers are either right in front of you or coming out of side roads.

It sounds ok but

it might give a false sense of security and stop bikers looking in the blind spot.  Id rather concentrate on whats in front of me, mirrors and shoulder check/life saver have worked well so far!
