Aberdeen - Dublin by bike?

my mates are toying with the idea of taking the ferry to ireland in the end of may for the scotland games against wales and ireland. I figured this might be an opportunity to be unsociable and take the bike along another route.

My bike is a Suzuki SV650s, main question being, as i have not driven long journeys with it yet, does anyone have any yay/nay suggestions as i dont know whether its really a bike for such an occasion.

No problem for the SV - infact it's a pretty good bike for the job with it's sporty/fun, but also slightly sport-tourer riding position :)
