Gresini Honda rider Alvaro Bautista says he is eager to understand the performance of the new generation 1000cc MotoGP machines when testing for the 2012 world championship campaign kicks off in Malaysia next week. When the former 125GP world champion made his Gresini debut in Valencia back in November, he rode an 800cc RC212V. The Spaniard has never ridden a 1000cc prototype...

couldn't agree more huge

Aspirations by all riders will indeed need to be adjusted. Anyone not on a CRT bike is now expected to school the ducati boys by passing round the outside, otherwise known as doing a Crutchlow ;)

That is an interesting tit-bit from one of the top 10 riders... too much power from the 800, and the 1000's will have even more! Wow. Yet Bautista is a good rider, and it seems all the riders are keen on a bit more sliding action. It should make for interesting tyre development!
