Bradley Smith relishing working with Cal Crutchlow in 2013

Bradley Smith is relishing the prospect of teaming up with fellow British rider Cal Crutchlow in next year’s MotoGP world championship. Smith’s two-year deal with the Tech 3 Yamaha squad was confirmed during the recent Brno MotoGP round in the Czech Republic and the 21-year-old will join former World Supersport champion Crutchlow on a factory-backed YZR-M1 machine in 2013. Crutchlow penned a...

I have just lost all faith in this team. Are they seriously going to give one of the top 5 motorcycles in the world to someone who struggles to get a Top 5 finish in Moto2? What are they thinking???? Either give the bike to someone in the mid-pack of MotoGP or at least one of the better guys in Moto2 like Luthi, Espargaro, or Ianonne. This is going to be a catastrophic mistake, SMITH DOES NOT DESERVE THIS BIKE!! Watch this mount go from 4th in MotoGP to the back of the pack, possibly beaten by some of the CRT bikes.

Smith's results

I haven't looked through all of the posts because I can't be bothered with all of the childish squabbling and name calling, so I may be about to repeat something that has already stated. To gauge how well Bradley Smith is riding, all you need to do is look at the results which have been achieved by his team mates and the other riders using the Tech 3 chassis over the past 2 years; 2011: Smith - 7th (121pts) Mike Di Meglio - 23rd (30pts) Xavier Siméon - 26th (23pts) 2012 (to date): Smith - 7th (77pts) Xavier Siméon - 18th (17pts) It's commonly excepted that the Tech 3 bike hasn't had much in the way of development, that it isn't the best out there and that Bradley is riding the wheels off it. The won has 3 125 races during his tenure in the class, so he has the talent... some riders have gotten works rides in MotoGP for less.

Petamocto, at least you can see where I'm coming from. thanks for that.

Bultoboy, you need to get a better grounding in motorcycle racing, if you think that qualifies Smith above all the other riders that's gone before him, That's my point, Smith hasn't been in WSB, BSB or anything major to warant a ride on an M1 for two years in MotoGP, anyone with any sense can see that.

jonnyrocket, if you can't come up with anything constructive and want to turn in into a slanging match, then that's your problem, I'm putting fact and the most likely outcome for Smith, I've nothing against Smith, only his poor ability to do well.

So looking forward to Sunday and seeing him on the top step.

Do you really think a seat in BSB qualifies you for a seat in MotoGP? - It would appear you need to get a better grounding in motorcycle racing before casting aspersions..

Nostro, stop nit picking.

Do you really think Smith has had the same development infrastructure as Marquez as had at Repsol? Forget about Terol, it's apples and pears..

At the moment it's all guess work. In my opinion Brad may struggle to switch on the tyres however if he can his style combined with the yam should equate to good tyre life and longevity. As for Marc he has the best package of thany of the rookies so should be rookie of the year, unles he injures himself which is quite possible. Can't be certain but from memory Ped didn't have a reputation for being injured in the lower classes and now it's been every season bar this one since his step up.

cal at oulton

was at bennets trackday yesterday and the obvious Q and A top questions to cal was how do you think rossi will go back on the yam, and do think smith will go in moto gp, he did nothing but praise rossi and say he is still the an alien as such just the ducati has not suited ect, the smith response was a more delayed but honesty one, saying it takes time and if you rush things like i did in my 1st season you end up slower, so taking time to learn riding and the bike and tyres is more important than the results as they come with time, be patient was his last words also it will be tough for him!!!!.

i did also have the pleasure of seeing cal do a pillion ride and toseland and these guys made the fast group which imo was very fast look slow into turn 1 and thats with a pillion!!! so dont be fooled by the screens boys being trackside is where its at. couching trolls dont even own motorcycles, you know who you all are!! best of luck to brad next season,
