Honda Varadero 125, F1 Warning Light?

I bought a Honda Varadero 125 a month ago, no problems whatsoever. I've done about 750 miles since I bought it. A couple of days ago the speedometer started playing up - going up and down, turning off and coming back on randomly. Now I have a red F1 warning light going on and off randomly and am not sure what it is or what to do... any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Will, can`t help much with modern fuel injection but more info may help,it could be a faulty O2 sensor at start up,does the F1 light have short/long flashes as in a code? Have you noticed any power loss at the top end? kcmc on here will have more idea.

Honda XL 125V Varadero year?

Hi WillGhostRogers and welcome to the site:smile

The speedometer sensor on your bike is in the conventional place the front wheel ,but as with many modern bikes it is now a electronic sensor not a spinning type cable.I think the reason you are getting a FI fault light on is there is a problem with either the block connector(corrosion?incorrect fit?wiring come apart?) or the sensor or its wiring are faulty, and this is what FI light is all about, telling you that you have this problem(FIX ME) .Good Luck
