MotoGP on UK TV... Will you be able to watch it?

After BT Sport announced that they have secured the TV rights to MotoGP from 2014, we wanted to work out just how easy it will be to watch first class motorcycle racing here in the UK. As you can see, working out what is possible - or best - for you is anything but simple!   Click on the image below to see...

Hey Jenno46 - I find this comment fascinating... Does it really seem like we're biased? Outside of report the news and then discuss some details about what/how the BT deal is I don't think we've done anything at all to suggest that we're either pro or anti BT. (I can tell you that I personally am pretty disappointed that I won't be able to watch the races next year).

The flowchart clearly seems to me to be MCN's sarcastic view of the situation with BT. Not in support. I live in Scandinavia and this year it was moved to Pay per View. Wonder what other countries are doing the same? I'd like MCN to look at this next year. I believe the BBC gets about 1.2 million viewers for motogp. Wondering what BT will get. Seems Dorna will make more cash but lose viewers worldwide. Does that seem like a long term view or quick profiteering ?

£744 saving not to watch motogp

the flowchart is very nice bit of work, but the fact is there are ways to watch internet TV, i'm not saying i'm going to switch my OS to Linux and spoof my mac address/ip, but it could end up turning a load of normal motogp watchers into 4ax0rs, but id rather spend £744 on me or my bike then give it to motogp.

£744 is a lot of cash, that's 2 sets of tyres and a load of petrol to burn, I think it's more fun to ride my bike than watch someone else ride their bike.

£744 would pay for a ferry trip n back to Europe and a good few nights BB

£744 would be better used in my pocket than in dorna's pocket.

Video Pass

If you don't want to switch to BT sport & Pay £144 because you want to stay with Sky or Virgin.

Just buy the video pass from £84.85 for standard or £135.78 for multiscreen full season.

Just need commentary team of Toby Moody and. Julian Ryder & I'm sorted

I think Dorna have under estimated just how tight a motorcyclist from the uk can be or just how socialistic we can be, we are being advertised to when we are watching motogp, if the truth be told they should be paying us to watch and buy the products, Dorna and the motogp site think they are selling us some sort of special sex that we can't get from either our girlfriends or our motorbikes. Well wake up Dorrna because you have made a mistake, even if you get Cal on a factor Yamaha.

moan moan moan......

Just switch to BT broadband and you get it for free. The next step is to connect your pc or laptop up to your flat screen tv which probably has a vga, dvi or hdmi connection.  How hard can it be?

I guess understandably MCN hope that fans keep watching beyond this season. But even with some fans taking up BTs offers there won't be the same number of viewers as present and in particular the potential number of people starting to watch MotoGP for the first time could be a lot less in the years to come. I imagine this could have a knock on effect on reader numbers of publications like MCN. So, will MCN be campaigning to keep some sort of MotoGP coverage on the existing BBC and Eurosport channels?
