Should Norton build a more affordable Domiracer?

The new Norton Domiracer, unveiled in this week's MCN, is a limited edition cafe racer from the revived manufacturer with a carbon seat unit and open exhausts. No official price has been stated yet, but it's expected to be under £20,000 excluding VAT. Should Norton build a more affordable version? pollcomment

Good call moto4

I like moto4's idea.  An affordable "Manx Norton" with something like the KTM 390 or 690 engine would be great.  Install the restricted engine map and you'd have the coolest A2-compliant bike on the market.

The problem of course is production.  Norton's current facilities can only serve the premium-price, low-volume market.  They'd probably need an overseas manufacturing partner for mass-market production, as Triumph have.

It’s a fantastic looking bike and if it was a sensible price I recon they’d sell loads of them.

More Staff leave Norton

Looking at the Norton web site they need senior engineer and all round dogs body and a side kick whats gone wrong NOW not paid staff?.  Gardner must be having a bad day people leaving and the Rotary 700cc project scrapped only for Brian Crighton to get backing and make it happen. Norton should go back to making just tee shirts.   Andy
