Cal Crutchlow escapes serious injury after two fast practice crashes

Cal Crutchlow’s bid for a fourth MotoGP podium of 2013 got off to a painful and tough start in Germany today after the British rider was left battered and bruised after two heavy practice crashes. Seconds remained in a cool and cloudy FP1 this morning when Crutchlow lost control of his Monster Yamaha Tech 3 YZR-M1 in the braking zone for...

Yesterday JB stated....

''We can ride Jorge’s set-up but it is very light on the front and Cal (Crutchlow) follows this way also.''

------------------------------------------------

Today we have ''Crutchlow lost the front-end of his YZR-M1''. Not for the first time. Maybe time for some extra ballast? That aside, here's hoping Cal is fit to start Sunday............if he can get through Saturday!

Take it easy buddy...

The lad has had a lot going on the last few weeks and am sure is feeling the pressure from the contract options.  It's cool bro - you're doing a blinding job.  Just keep it butter side up and don't go crazy... what am I saying? You're gonna go balls out because that's what racers do! just get some rest before you do though mate!  Best of luck for the race whatever happens.  And don't beat yourself up, there were a lot of experienced factory riders spilling in the kitty litter too!

Oh and Bradl and Cal were funny in the pre race press conference.  Bradl to Cal "Tell them the funny story about what happened on the last day".  Cal "I told you not to talk about that!" hahaha... ace.

Keep it rubber side up Cal. Has reached a crucial moment in that Rossi who he considered at the same level has now made the jump up to the next level, Cal will either crash himself stupid trying to go with him or settle for doing his best and staying on and accepting when Ross is quick that he is well qualified for the job. Two huge crashes in sessions(fp1/fp2) where outright pace is not even a priority, ala Jorge, is a sign of the type of pressure that can only come from another rider on the same bike..

Room for

two Yams on the podium, another win for Vale on the cards, hope Cal keeps it together for the other spot.

No Shawno

They aren't good points at all

They are typical of the odious nature of his remarks in that he virtually gloats every time a rider suffers a crash that he thinks he can attribute to pressure from Rossi. He's done it many times and he's done it again over on the Lorenzo topic. If it wasn't so sick it would be laughable.

No mention of the loss from a race of a rider that could mix it up at the front and keep the title race interesting (something he always bangs on about as being essential to maintain interest). Nor of the fact that another rider resembling an extra from the Mummy will probably be off song as well, or that MM may still feel the affects of his hand injury.

Just the snidy self satisifed barley disguised sentiment of 'that'll teach you to try and race with the goat - learn your place'.

What a sporting nature.

bulto...

you're right, there's always someone who can only make a point when taking dig at another rider competing at the same level, so what he took a spill, he's going for it and I don't think Vale will be too much on his mind especially as Cal has always said he'd be glad to finish 5th in the championship, that's not being defeatist, but just plain realistic.

you're also right in the fact that Cal has had some some good scraps lately and has got the better of a factory honda in the process...so still progressing?  for sure he is....let's hope for a good race tomorrow and I Vale and Cal can some podiums...
