Rain disrupts Casey Stoner’s return to two wheels in Japan

Casey Stoner has returned to MotoGP action at the Twin Ring Motegi track in Japan today, the double world champion completing his first stint on a factory Honda since he retired from racing nine months ago. Stoner’s two-day appearance, which was exclusively revealed by MCN last month, is the first of four test sessions the Australian has planned in the coming...

He has already......

..... been away to long.... Motogp needs Casey Stoner, age on his side, all that talent.... Why was he allowed to leave. Every time he gets on a bike he proves his worth, double world champ, two manufactures.... Tells us all he could race and get the best out of anything. Get the man on the grid, get out of those cars and come back and entertain us..... PLEASE....

funnily enough I was "moaning" about how this has descended in to a Stoner vs Rossi wank-fest already.  Still, it takes the heat off Cal for a few hours doesn't it, bud ?

Philip Morris would bust the bank for him, Honda would carve a bike out of billet with a rat tail file and I'd swap to BT.

Stoner Marquez Lorenzo Pedrosa Rossi, race on.

Wingers winging about a winger, pot kettle black.

Let's hope Casey got a taste for it and will look for a wild card this year...what a show that would be...I'd pay good money to fly back home for that one at PI!!!

Fair comment bud but look at which camp brought a certain chap into the argument ;)

As for Cal. There was never any 'heat' in my eyes. An obvious route for the man to take. For people to thump their keyboards every night when they can't see what Cal see's is kinda funny. It's a mans decision based on what he knows. You can't qualify it in the same bracket as 'tyres, seamless gearboxes, frames' etc........

It's personal. End of.

Casey enjoying riding a Motogp bike is no surprise. Who can begrudge the guy allowing himself a little indulgence and he will always be a super quick rider make no mistake about that.
What I can’t understand is Honda using him as a development rider….WHY?
Truth is Stoner on any bike will be different. He’s not comparable to Pedrosa or Marquez so why bother? His data will never be the same as anyone else’s so it seems pointless to use him as a guide reference when he is in a different league to the 2 who will be racing the bike.

Thats a fair question. There`s something afoot methinks, but they aren`t going to tell us. Nor are they obliged to.

Maybe nothing more than Honda getting people talking about THEM instead of Ducati or Yamaha/Rossi.
Either way I`m hoping for a return of Casey.

Pleased to see Casey back on a bike like him or hate him he is missed in the paddock. It would be great to see him actually make a couple of wild card appearances especially at his home track where he has never been beaten so he can keep his 100% record.

Not so sure about the Different League to Marquez he may be a young upstart but he will become a multiple in all classes World Champion something Stoner will never be and to be fair i reckon could smash him now !!!!
