Now there’s a retro Jawa!

Latest to jump on the retro-styling bandwagon – although possibly with more integrity than some – is Jawa. The Czech, former Soviet bloc, manufacturer still produces utilitarian, budget, old-fashioned, two-stroke twin cylinder runabouts to this day, which have been long-time exclusively imported into the UK by F2 Motorcycles. Now, this ‘new’ 350 Retro joins a range comprising 350 Classic, limited edition Military,...

Retro looks but not retro price

There are so many much better 2nd hand bikes at this price.

Look, i know it's quite cheap but really  the price point needs to be even lower. I'd like to see this pitched at more like £2000. This would make it a great run about or cheap commuter bike.

At say £1895 I bet it would fly off the shelves.

Jawa

Great looking bike, with the added practicality of fork gaiters, totally enclosed chain for almost zero chain maintenance, light weight and good  fuel economy. Of course its probably no good for doing track days and probably not great if you have to commute large distances on the motorway, but  you can't have everything, especially at that price...

It can pass the Euro Emission law test?

REALLY it can pass the emission test?

And PLEASE tell me it doesn't demand cross-plys.

If those two are in place I could think of worse ways to spend Under £4K.

23 BHP

32 NM Torque

Bike weighs 145Kg

Um.

Come on MCN road test it.  Just out of curiosity.  Please?

Though why its £400 more than the faired sport (and yes as someone said its £3.8K, not 3.2) I dunno.  Except sort of its nicer looking.  .....  Don't judge that comment til you see the sport   ;-p

Still wary of crossplys that look like genuine 1970s crossplys tho

I can't fathom the extra price

It's just a Classic with different (not better) tank, panels and seat.

The Classic or Military look like better value, coming in a fair bit less than Royal Enfields.  The idea of a 2-stroke tuned for torque rather than peak power is pretty intriguing.
