Marc Marquez remains upbeat after disaster Down Under

Spaniard Marc Marquez refused to be too downbeat after he saw his commanding MotoGP world championship lead slashed in half after a disastrous Phillip Island race.Marquez knew going into the Australian clash that if he scored eight points more than Yamaha rival Jorge Lorenzo, he would clinch a historic first premier class crown.A dramatic weekend though dominated by major Bridgestone...

I understand there are Pit Lane type inspecters at each garage...
The riders that 'infringed' the enforced pit stop - should of been stopped from going back out on track...

I think Danny Pedrosa was informed to drop a place? as he crossed teh white line between pit lane and track on his exit? - i think he dropped behind Marq Marquez - who was a disqualified rider - and should not be in the racce - or occupyoing a 'Place' - so should Danny of not dropped behind the next rider, or rider ocupying a valid place in the race - ala Rossi?

Moto GP

Is far from dead.In actual fact it is very much alive and more exciting especially with Mr Marquez arriving.
Next year will be even more exciting with the new production bikes etc and the arrival of new riders including Mr Redding.
Also we have the prospect of Mr Crutchlow on the Ducati being hammered by Mr Smith and most other non Ducati riders.
It is certainly a shame some things are not handled better but the sport is far from dead.
My money is for a Marquez win next weekend.

Check and re-check

Obviously they wanted to stagger the pit-stop for Marky and Dani, but you would think that the teams would check with each other and the organisers about that details of that strategy.  At the very least when Dani's crew put out the pit board saying "box, box" that Marky's crew would realise that they were next.

Still - I think a ride-through would have been an appropriate penalty rather than a black-flag.  And similarly if Dani broke pit-lane etiquette then a ride-through is more consistent (and logical) than giving up a place.

The only good thing about this debacle is that it balances the karma quotient and makes for a more interesting final few rounds.

One thing we can be sure of

is if Lorenzo had been late in he would not have been black flagged but Dorna didn't want Marquez to win it in Japan

Much better to keep interest up for the umpteenth spanish GP of the season

revben...

The wording here was key... "at the end of lap 9 or 10"... every rider that pitted on lap 9 or 10 did so before the end of the lap... & every rider that pitted before the end of lap 9 obviously did "more than 10 laps on any one slick or wet rear tyre" ... a farce created by ill thought out rushed rules with no opportunity to question their implications & little time to prepare for them.

Marquez is abrilliant rider and he has acheived fantastic results and will be achampion many times, however why did he not receive apoint on his licence for coming out of pit late as he did.Considering the speed lorenzo and danny were going it was verry dangerous,All Moto GP,BSB,World Superbikes are superb but christ dont make it any more dangerous
