Valencia MotoGP: Marquez takes historic MotoGP title

Marc Marquez has made history in Valencia today by becoming the youngest ever MotoGP world champion in his rookie season. Marquez only had to finish fourth to secure the championship, and after an incident-packed race crossed the line in third place to take the crown from race winner Jorge Lorenzo. Brilliant season

You cant deny Marquez's talent, cool head and charming character, will be godsend to Moto GP.

Lucky luck has smiled on him this year though, 15 crashes and no serious injuries picked up. Compared to Lorenzo 3 crashes and a two broken collarbone. Thats racing though, and Marquez has been brilliant every round and fully deserves his title.

Next year will be brilliant, Lorenzo will want his title back and theres nothing to chose between the top two in speed or machinery,   absolutely mouth watering.

Lorenzo should be docked time for shoving Pedrosa off. All the shouting he has done this year about Marquez being too aggressive.

Cool as a cucumber..brave as a bulldog..faster than a flash of greased lightening..Marquez ripped up the record books and has the MotoGP world at his feet.

A pleasure and an absolute honour to behold. A breath of fresh air.

What a season..

Indeed, what a day. Seeing Marc win the title offset against the departure of the Beeb's coverage made for quite mixed emotions.

For what its worth, the coverage on BBC has been cracking over the years. Shame that BT has taken over, I for one won't be paying to tune in any more.

Still, that takes nothing away from Marc's win. Cheers for spicing things up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
