Yamaha rubbishes Ducati swoop for Jorge Lorenzo

Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis has strongly denied rumours that double MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo is close to clinching a shock switch to Ducati for 2015. A wheel hasn’t even been turned in anger in 2014 yet, but with every top rider out of contract at the end of the year, speculation is already rife about the future prospects for the...

Errr yes it does Yamaha havent got a pot to piss in those are the facts of paddock life not some internet guess,it's why Lorenzo is the only one on a Yamaha making big bucks and you can include Tech 3 in that cuz their whistling dixie  as well in the hope of striking it rich some time Edwards and Toseland were the last to do that.

We're still waiting

for this big money sponsor to show up because of the Terrapin's magnetic powers that the bedwetters promised us.Instead Lorenzo is asked to ditch his energy drink sponsor for another willing to pay a wee bit of loose change more. Yamaha pay all of Jorge's wages.

The Terrapin was a product of the feel good times as cheap money sloshed around everywhere. Anything else peddled is fanboy bullshit.

What a laugh

Jorge wouldn't even piss on the Ducati. He would be a fool to even entertain them at this point of his career. Maybe in a couple of years when he's at the end of his career he'll let Ducati fund his retirement with a couple of swan song seasons.

Here we go again Nostro

Even if there is a 'modicum' of truth in your allegations it certainly did not apply to Rossi's 125cc and 250cc championships which earned him the ride in MotoGp.   Also there is much more than a 'modicum' of talent necessary to win 7 MotoGp championships and don't bring out that old chestnut about inferior opposition they were the best of their day. Gibernau in particular pushed Rossi to the limit.

Credit where it's due - OK the older Rossi is not attracting big-bucks sponsors like the younger Rossi but hey time moves on - that's life  don't knock it.

so...

"Errrr Rossi's sponsorship money pays Lorenzo's wages"

... with Rossi performing so poorly on the Yamaha everyone is saying (as predicted) how bad it is compared to the Honda (despite winning over 1 third of the races in what was, essentially, a 3 horse race)... which has in its own way effected sales (as much as a MotoGP reputation can... ask Ducati)... & sponsorship (they have not signed a title sponsor).

No-one's saying the Yamaha is bad it's just that the Honda is better!

You think 4th in the world at 34 is 'poor' ?    Hell's teeth 5th to 10th must be 'rubbish' then !

Valentino does... if he's not challenging the top 3 by round 6 he's retiring... apparently.

"No-one's saying the Yamaha is bad it's just that the Honda is better! "

Motomatters... "what is widely acknowledged to be a lesser bike"

Yamaha "lesser"... not Honda better (tho' arguing the toss is pedantic IMO)... someone is... many are... I don't agree (evidently).
