Is it too late for Valentino Rossi?

After three days of testing at Sepang Valentino Rossi managed to finish second fastest. The nine time champion says he’s changed his riding style to suit the new bike, but after an unimpressive 2013 season, is it too little too late for the Italian?

If he wants it bad enough..

Its entirely upto to Rossi to be honest he knows full well how far he has to push it to get a win especially under normal race conditions and only he knows to what limit he's willing to push it to get there, the bikes bang on, he's a genious on it but he's racing incredibly skilled, hunger youngsters, oh just like himself back in the day !!

If there's a win going begging due to on track carnage, weather etc he'll pinch it in a heart beat, just no sure he's still a winner week in week out, maybe his new race engineer can find something extra and maybe Rossi's head might be in the right place this year, would be great to see him win again mind..

Sepang shows he still has the pace and we know he has the race craft but this year will show if he still has the hunger to race like this week after week.

Either way this is most probably the final year, he either doesn't have the hunger and there is no more point or he puts in the effot, wins in this year and retires on top.........  dragging it out any further wont do himself any favours.

Saying that, if he is still having fun and the sponcers are happy then why not go for the run even if it means being middle of the pack :s

To win a championship means beating Marquez/Lorenzo/Pedrosa over a season on a regular basis!!! that'll be a NO then, and if the answers no then whats he doing there with a track record like his,he won't be the first sporting great who didn't know when it was over, over as in championship not as in the odd result.

Rossi

I wouldnt put it past Rossi to win a few races this season , I can cynically say Rossi is a better advert than Lorenzo and the weight of Yamaha might gravitate toward that side of the garage .

No. Many people 'come out' at his age and beyond.

Not over the hill

If by saying is it to late for Rossi  he going to be world champion. I very much doupt it But you cant write him of winning races and mixing it with the aliens. When you get a bit older and have been their and done it before the desire and motivation to win is not going to be quite so great as when your a hot headed 20something year old. so he aint going to risk his neck quite as much as Marquez. But Rossie is no way over the hill and if he was he would be the 1st one to admit it. After the stick he got when riding on the Ducati I wish him luck and hpes he proves his doupters wrong

GOAT?

Can Rossi win another championship? With the likes of Marquez and Lorenzo around probley not! But if he did specially now! You would really have to call him the GOAT! Would love to prove his doubters wrong! But I think it's a little to late! Good luck Vale!

1'59.727"

0.139sec faster than Jorge - a lot of punters pick for best rider in the world - on the same bike.

Rossi still has the pace.
