Casey Stoner unlikely to take up HRC test role again

Double MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner is looking increasingly unlikely to continue as test and development rider for Honda in 2014. HRC had intended to keep the Australian developing its factory RC213V throughout 2014 after he made numerous testing appearances in Japan at the end of last season. Stoner, who retired from MotoGP at the end of 2012, is taking a complete...

Avoiding an issue?  What issue would that be Wosi ?

I was having a bit of fun with grass boy and hoping he'd be goaded by frustration into showing a picture of Rossi sliding an M1 and that it would be from last year without him realising it. In the end Alex posted one.

For me case closed. Grass boy banged on and on with his lectures on how the "Lorenzo tailored" M1 CAN'T be made to slide. He was most specific that a bike designed for corner speed WON't slide. Here's one of his last quotes, following a picture of Rossi sliding an RCV  -  Obviously he wasn't doing it in 2013

Then Alex produced a picutre of him sideways on the 2013 M1, then someone followed with Lorenzo doing the same. There's also video of Crutchlow and Rossi drifting into a corner in Barcelona 2013, but we didn't really need that as Grass boy's ramblings had been totally debunked at this stage. The video from Barcelona would have shown Lorenzo in the same shot, wheels in line. So that would be three M1 Yams from last year on the same corner, one wheels in line and two sliding, on the bike that won't slide.

Oh dear.

I emailed MCN's Steve Hunt last week and he assured me that they are working hard to launch the 2014 Fantasy Road Race competition.     It looks as though it won't be launched before the first race of the season though.

You can't have it both ways

Either Lorenzo can slide or he cannot. Either the M1 can do it or it cannot. To believe a world class rider can't do what everyone already does at a National level is beyond ridiculous though. Lorenzo does not want to slide, it's a preference and not a weakness, massive difference. So, Sepang or not Nostro's pic is the proof Lorenzo has no issue to throw his bike sideways, if needed. I'd also advise anyone still having doubts to watch either the Silverstone or the Phillip Island race. Yeah Degrasse ain't the only one watching each race several times.

Who'd have thought that MCN is run by Civil Servants. You learn something new everyday.

Thank you Druids

Point well made too.

NEVER  happened says Wosi. CAN'T do it says Backpaddock. Yet thanks to Druids here's just one example. A beautifully controlled inch perfect long hard power slide from JL in a race, not showboating, just on the gas HARD!  2 mins 30 seconds.

But they've both gone deathly silent. Whatever fragments of credibility Wosi had - shredded, Backpaddock of course never had any to begin with.

Listen to the King

There is only one man we can turn to that can settle this once and for all. This is of course Kenny Roberts Snr who rode an M1 for a couple of laps in 2011. He said at the time

"You know, we could over-ride our bikes, we could make it move around, we could slide it and make it turn, and two-strokes had a lot different powerband. This thing isn't going to do that, it's not going to slide going in, and set it up coming out. It ain't going to do that"

And also,

"The tires, suspension, and chassis are so much better to do that exact corner, but if you don't do that exact corner exactly, it doesn't work".

So that's sorted that out.    :biggrin::biggrin:

Grass boy has disappeared because he can't take the irrefutable truth that his half baked theories have been exposed as the baseless garbage they are. If he hasn't been put in a straight jacket by now he's probably busy tearing up all of his KR senior posters and burning his fan club membership card

Wosi will be back because when your credibility level is as low as his, what is there to lose.

Here's the video from Barcelona I was going to put on earlier, may as well include it as well

Around the 50s mark is Crutchlow, then around 1.25 you have Crutchlow and Rossi - sliding a Lorenzo spec M1
