BT Sport team break cover

After months of speculation, BT Sport has finally announced the team that will head their 2014 MotoGP coverage. The team will be led by one of the most famous commentary teams in biking history, with former Eurosport commentator Julian Ryder joined by British Champion Keith Huewen. The team, who led Sky Sports’ coverage of GP and World Superbikes in the...

I switched to BT broadband so can watch it on the net. For those of you who can't then sportlemon.com is the way to go. You might get a foreign commentator but at least you can see the races and make up your own bloody mind about what's going on.

Not looking forward to Huewan commentating though, still remember his awful WSB efforts from the 90's and the constant screaming of FOGGY! FOGGY! FOGGY!

Julian Ryder what a false awful man

Matey you need stuffing with a wrag mans trumpet for saying that when it comes to comentators he's unique!!!! he's the only one that ever been a punter as in ridden his bike across Europe and paid to to get in,he's been both sides of the fence and hasn't forgotten, which not only puts him head and shoulder above the rest probably the the majority on here as well who won't even spend the peanuts that BT want never mind  how much it costs to go to a race in person.

I see the Mercure at Le-Mans want 750e for 4 nights I'll watch it on BT thanks.

May i ask have you ever met him ?,The only one thats ever been a punter,do you really think that? most of the people connected to this sport have been life long fans of the sport ,Take Murray Walker as an example his first love has always been Bikes not that thats really the point ,this bloke is on a guffawing self indulgent jolly slavvering around riders and anyone he can to line his own fat backside pocket,However its all subjective but ,there are people far more qualified and deserving than this ,oh and far nicer imo !

Funny you should say that because I have the the topic of conversation wasn't motorcycles a one trick pony he ain't he was both pleasant to talk too and professional when he had to do his bit,and away from all the Moto GP BS you'll find him at the likes of the Stafford Classic show,' life long  fans of the sport' Oh really what so long as their making money!!! thats my whole point he's been on the other side of the fence OUR SIDE,if you get the chance to talk to any of the others ask e'm if they have stood in the queue and paid to get in having already paid an arm and leg for some poxy hotel,I'll save you the bother they haven't!!!.,bikeing racing at the moment is how they earn their living and they would happly present goldfish racing if it paid the same or sell you double glazing for that matter,oh hang on a minute they do!! or he does!!

Ryder is an accomplish journalist with many years on the Mic' and even more on a bike. He is a gaffawing bafoon, but equally he is a font of knowledge and insite. Should have kept him with Moody as they kind of neutralise each other..!

Should have gone with Claire Balding (Studio), Matt Roberts (Pit lane) and brought back Suzi Perry (interviews etc)

Anyway, deal is done, watch it/don't watch it on TV or get of your ass and go to the event.

I can tell you from personal experience, sitting in the stands at Mugello, Montmelo, Valencia etc is WAY more fun that gawking at the googlebox for 45 mins or so.

Don't mind stig

Just smile and nod. He's just one of these resentful people, full of bitterness and envy. Best to stay clear, lest you get sucked into his sphere of loathing, and despair.

Ryder is passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about bikes, which is what you want on your motogp channel. If you're a functioning human being with a passion for bikes that is.

MotoGp Coverage

In MCN's 'Opinion' column written by Sport's Editor Michael Guy this week he closes by saying ..

''Having met the BT Sport team they are under no illusion as to the current feeling from fans and all they ask is instead of judging them now, wait and see what they deliver during the course of 2014.''

I don't think anyone doubts the quality of what they are about to deliver ... that is not the bone of contention .. the issue is ..in order to make that judgement you are forced to pay their fee.

Nice to have a thread that is worth reading.
Have you seen some of the drivel the usual clowns are coming up with elsewhere.

Julian Ryder

....is a brilliant commentator especially paired with Toby Moody and Neil Spalding.

You don't need to spend a dime watching MotoGP or any motor sport. Just go to "racingfor.me" and download it a few hours after the race. Ok it's not live but who cares?

Some balanced views

Winger ,Yes i'm aware of his "other" little winter job selling his memoribilia and trinkets, but non the less not my cup o' tea ,pornstar and saturn raise a valid point or two, although others have asniff of Hew and cry about them .I dont mind paying btw I would just prefer my coin go to a better cause than some of this teams pockets,However ,if the racing is good then their "job" is an easier one as Saturn states lets see
