Laverty Jumps Up On Day One Of Official WSB Tests

The first of two days of official testing at the Phillip Island circuit saw the Voltcom Suzuki of Eugene Laverty lead the field at a pace that shocked even the fastest rider on show himself. “This morning was probably the best conditions I have ever rode Phillip Island in and that is why the lap times were so good.” said...

Really suprised that both Suzukis are right up their. It could be a really interesting season. No clear cut riders or makes dominating. Aprila might have lost their way with the loss of gigi. Two riders to look out for on Sunday are Alex Lowes and Marco Melandri Both extrmely hard riders and both will be near the front  Something tells me that this season The WSB boys are going to make the MOTOGP boys look like pusseys(Marquez and Lorenzo the exceptions)

We'll get a better idea

at the end of Day 2..    Initially the Suzukis are looking good ... Aprillia (last years yardstick) not looking so good and surprisingly Davies and Rea not looking great on the Ducati and Honda respectively.

It could all look different tomorrow!    Shame that Fabrizio and Barrier (Toseland's protege) both injured early on.

the limit of engines this year will hit Aprila more than others. I guess they have had to reduce power to get some more engine life

can you say "track resurfacing?"

Tired of Stoner-bashing on the other thread, eh?

Rock on Laverty & Suzuki!!  There's life in the old Gixxer yet.
