Phillip Island WSB test: Sykes on top and on circuit record pace

The two days of warm and dry official track time at Phillip Island were unfettered in terms of weather conditions but it was the high attrition rate of crashing riders and some technical issues that cut short the available track time from the first session to the last. The fastest rider on show proved to be Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team)...

To see Alex Lowes right up the sharp end.  He proved himself last year by lifting the BSB title.  Now he is showing just how fast he is.  The winter is finally over next weekend :-)

big fish small pond

It looks like Kawasaki and Suzuki have done the right thing pulling out of MOTOGP and putting their effort into WSB Its better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a big pond. Plus I firmly believe that to develop and evolve a decent road bike WSB is also the way to go rather than MOTOGP. You onlly have to look at BWW involvment to Know that

Bring on SBK!

Can't wait for the red light to go out.  Nice to see those Gixxers up there, too...Lowes and Laverty look to be a top team.

Good point about Kawi and Suzuki focusing on SBK and getting the least a couple of the Japanese companies are putting up a fight against the RSV4 and S1000RR.

Those, EBR's got a tough road ahead.  They were down by 25mph on top end and still blowing engines.  Keep at it, gotta start somewhere.

Great pic of Sykes with this article, too.  I'm liking that #1.

Slow start from Chaz Davies but he will get to grips with the Ducati soomer or later. He's actually only a second off the pace at the moment.
