Jorge Lorenzo disgruntled with new Bridgestone rear tyre

Jorge Lorenzo’s frustration with the performance of a new 2014- spec Bridgestone rear tyre continued in Sepang today, with the double MotoGP world champion clearly disgruntled to be down in fifth on the timesheets. The factory Yamaha rider set a best time of 2.01.158 on a low grip surface today to finish 0.310s behind compatriot Alvaro Bautista. Lorenzo has been one of...

Honda tyres

Once again DORNA and Bridgstone Favour the Honda which is a lot happier sliding around than the Yamaha that is a bike that likes to keep its wheels inline. It looks like it might be a Honda benefit year? At least in WSB  you cant predict who is going to win and what make of bike is going to win. Just glad that i havnt spent my hard earnt cash on MOTOGP and instead have gone with SKY for WSB and BSB

It looks this way, yet Rossi doesn't seems unhappy with it.

It's not the bike, it's the rider, and Yamaha have worked in the area Rossi was complaining about last year, this means the 2014 M1 is no longer 100% Jorges's bike....

What Lorenzo is complaining about, is the bike sliding and harsher power delivery, Rossi doesn't fear this.

Rossi is also complaining too, big interview on another site .. crash.net, although he is being less serious about it.

I know he still is working at it, but he is confident he can set the bike up, so was he crew chief after the first test.

The point being, he is saying the harsher power delivery is not a problem for his style and he can cope with the new tires, saying he can do 2.00 on the soft is not far from his first test lap times.

I posted the link to crash.net in another topic. Cheers

Welcome to Ducati's world.

Just shows how unfair the single tyre rule can be I guess.

Maybe Jorge and Vale could switch to open class - lovely soft tyres there for them.  LOL...

Rossi signed the second best after Marquez so far, he is not too bad on the 2014 tyres, and he didn't run the soft today.

Agreed on the single tyre rule...

This is indeed the madness of the single tyre rule

How on Allah's scorched Earth can any manufacturer build a chassis with the attributes they desire when Bridgestone rock up to the first test of the year with tyres of different construction and compound? It's a crap chicken and egg scenario. Just how much consultation is going on between riders / manufacturers and B'stone?

Conspiracy theory

The tyre thing .... it's all part of Ezpeleta's plan ..... bring the open bikes up to a level playing field thereby forcing the factories to go open to maintain their dominance for the future.

Ezpeleta doesn't know ****

He is gambling with the teams to attract more entries in order to make more money.

Want to see real races? Limit the electronics to the minimum or take them out (BSB) = less cost. He tried with the CRT, failed and now he presents the open categorie just to promote his own ECU...

Prototypes should be prototypes. Perhaps this is the only point I agree with our favorite fisherman.
