thank you Mrs H...

'tis easier than I thought it would be, used patches for three days then stopped 'cause the idea is to stop putting nicotine into your body and break the craving I thought. Seems to be working. So far.

Very well done sir (and Ash)

The o/h got an e-cig early December and hasn't had a real smoke since then.

He reduced the nicotine level easily enough and had been on zero for a while.
Now he just has to give up the e-cig!

You can't add smileys

...except these ones, :upset::mad::wacko::blink: because you're suffering from nicotine withdrawal

But seriously, I'm on the same hymn sheet as you, I haven't had one since last Sunday evening. I'd rethink abandoning the patches if I were you, yeah the idea is to stop putting nicotine into your body but patches wean you off it gradually. I'm using patches and at the crucial points like after meals I get an urge which lasts about 30secs to a minute but the patch takes the edge off it and it soon goes away. I don't like the idea of e-cigs though, they are a replacement for the act of smoking a cigarette whereas patches just replace the nicotine. Fingers crossed I'm going to complete the course

Also my tip to dull the hunger pangs is to sip regularly throughout the day from a bottle of water. Downing a glass of water say every hour or so becomes tedious and sickening.
