The dangle is merely a modern variant of the same wind brake/ drag / pivot knee. Besides which the leg dangle is still not nearly as prevalent as the classic knee in the breeze.

The original point Marion was you were trying to draw some preposterous analogy between stopping at a set of lights and putting your left leg down whilst stationary and MotoGP riders dangling their inside leg as an aid to cornering whilst pulling over negative 3 g.
