Yamaha boss: Rossi a title contender in 2014

Valentino Rossi’s brilliant victory challenge in the season’s opening MotoGP race in Qatar proves that the Italian is a genuine title contender in 2014, according to Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis. The 35-year-old was a close second to reigning world champion Marc Marquez in an enthralling opening to the 2014 campaign under the Losail International Circuit floodlights in Doha. One of Rossi’s best...

A contender?! Ha, ha, ha...

I agree with MCN & Lin;

Yamaha boss Jarvis is in doubt that Rossi’s potential is higher this season and he told MCN.

I would love to see him get another title. However, the question is can he still get the better of the younger talent out there? One thing's for sure - it should produce some fantastic racing this year.

Still about posting your fanboyz p!ssed off comments while keeping yourself as ignorant as possible?

"I don't think we will see the same dip as last year. I believe Valentino will be there. His ambition is no doubt to go for the championship and we've seen he was a very close second to Marc, so based on that he is absolutely a title contender.”

Get a grip.

MarcusMarsh: Did you watch the race? Coming from 10th on the grid with the bike which is still NOT 100% as good on the brakes as "his" used to be speaks volume, Yamaha have some good reason (like data) to believe he can, i don't see why he couldn't.

I.M.H.O, i think the only unknown is how much progresses did the M1 really make during the inter season, not if Rossi is more motivated, physically more prepared and more at ease with a bike he endly can set up the way he likes (so far).

btw, last week MCN mentions the 2014 bike being changed for him...

Yet again the above article was not proof-read before publishing !!   You picked up on it as a joke.

It should have read '' Yamaha boss Jarvis is in ''NO Doubt''  Clever old stick.

If anyone has the Qatar race recorded

go back and look at the post race interview. After VR has said his piece and sits back, he looks to his left at MM and gives him a "look". Its not a hard faced stare and MM dosen't see it,  but it does have definite intent and when I saw it I knew he wanted to kick MM's ass. VR still believes he can do it, and based on the racing I saw at Qatar its hard to argue with that. Ha ha what am I saying. Pricks like bluto and ahab only live to argue over **** like that!

You are right. If he didn't he wouldn't have come back after last year, he doesn't need to risk to hurt himself just to prove a point on a bike that won't let him.

He's got Yamaha technical backing and this p!sses of a few SloMos and Rossi bashers here, not only those who were burrying him for ther last 4 years but also those who tried to make of Lorenzo style the new religion. MISSED.

Now they are in full reality denial and trolling mode...

How about that

on one of only four bikes that can win a race, so he has a 1/4 chance of winning then. Wow slow news day.
