When doing it solo

...I recommend elastic bands from the bar end to hold on the front brake. Yep I have dropped mine on it's side :upset:

No damage done except a small scuff on the bar end but still, you'd rather it didn't happen.

The bike has to move backwards as it lifts though. Centre the steering first would be my tip.

What I don't do is sit on the stand and thrust my hips at the tail unit like this guy.

:lol:

If it goes wrong there's no way he'll stop the bike going over in that position anyway.
