OUT TONIGHT.... at last....

..Weather has been shite this weekend .....rain  on and off all Saturday and Sunday. I didn't think we would get out on the bikes....In order to get out we went cycling along the Forth and Clyde canal on Saturday ....

The rain continued most of Sunday .......then by some miracle at 4:00 pm today the rain stopped, the sky cleared and the sun came out ...two hours later the roads had mostly dried and I was able to snatch a quick blast out on the bike before dark.....result.:smile

Just after taking the ...

...last two pics, as I prepared to set off back to Glasgow a CBR 125 with L plates came by.

I set off behind it and was surprised to see the pace it was setting down the twisty A81...the rider must have been wringing every last bhp from it.

I passed it before Blanefield and waved to the rider. They clearly rode the wheels off it trying to keep up with the gixxer ......and although I wasn't exactly wringing the gixxer's neck I was more that a little surprised at how well the little 125 kept up. 15 miles later in the outskirts of Glasgow we stopped at traffic lights and the 125 pulled up alongside with the rider giving me a big grin ...I was amazed to see it was a young girl, couldn't have been more than 17/18 yrs old.

125 pilot .... Respect! :winkie:

Don't worry about it. - Wear your 'chicken strips' with pride. :winkie:

I'm saving mine for when the bike is properly 'run in' and we eventually get a nice sunny day for a rideout.... can't be long now.. fingers crossed... :winkie:

Nice strips.:winkie:

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the size of folk's strips as it can be dependant on other factors such as tyre profiles.  :winkie:

I have bigger strips when I am running a 55 profile rear instead of the standard 50 as you can lean further on a 55 before you get to the edge.

I prefer the 55's as they make the bike more 'flickable' in the bends.

I liked the first picture of you riding two bikes! :winkie:

Good to see you got out last night, it turned out really nice in the afternoon/evening, I was almost tempted myself....

'riding two bikes'

 - yes, it's always handy to have a spare in case of punctures. :winkie:

'I was almost tempted myself....'

It did cross my mind that I might bump into you on the Stockiemuir..:winkie:

Si

It's a small world! :winkie:

Good to hear she is upgrading ...I reckon she needs a gixxer 600.

When she does you need to bring her along on our rideouts as she would have no problem keeping up on a bigger bike, plenty of confidence (she was filtering like a boss in the heavy Glasgow traffic)...in fact, - give her a couple of years and it will probably be us struggling to keep up with her! Lol!
