Private Selling - Do you allow test rides?

I'm thinking of selling my bike privately for the first time and wondered what the general rule is regarding allowing test rides as I don't want to see someone riding off into the sunset on it!  When selling privately do people normally expect to be allowed to test ride it given many actual bike showrooms don't even offer test rides?

Appreciate thoughts and comments

Wouldnt buy one myself without one

If you are buying privately you cant be sure if there is anything wrong until you get it out on the road, test the rev ranges, handling, braking etc. If it was me selling i would want copy of insurance confirming 3rd party cover to ride others bikes and full cash in hand before test ride - if they break it or damage it, they buy it, simples. If i test rode someone elses bike and broke it i would buy it as i am a decent guy
