MotoGP Argentina: Marquez blitzes opposition to dominate qualifying

Marc Marquez has once again demolished the opposition at the brand new Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, taking pole position by three quarters of a second from Jorge Lorenzo. Marquez was able to set a 1:37.683, faster even than pre-race predictions of best lap times, while Lorenzo was only able to manage 1:38.425. However, the rookie champion still not content,...

He's making everyone look stupid now. Some of the youngsters will be able to respond, for them it simply sets the bar to which they have to raise. For the older ones it signals time to retire.

If MM didn't make the rest of the field look ordinary today. Looks like his race pace is going to be untouchable tommorrow. JLo's only chance is to try and get ahead on the start and back MM up into traffic, infact, that may well be his only chance all season. The JLo consistency doesn't seem to bare divedends where MM is concerned. Who was the last rider to win back to back title starting in his rookie year?

-Good to see Dovi getting the most he can out the current Duc and putting that soft/quali tyre to good use.

- Aleix Espargaro's form once again shows how neutered the Factory M1 must be due to fuel/engine restrictions.

-I know DP has to throw himself about on the bike due to his size but did anybody else think in FP4 he was hanging off the bike more than usual? trying to adopt some MM style perhaps?

-Also, did anybody else think Smith possibly deliberatley helped Iannone baulk himself  in FP4 by running wide on the pit entry while Iannone was getting a tow off him? I hope so, I really want to see a bit more aggression from Smith this season.

Whether or not

Kenny Roberts is the answer to every question in GP bike racing, he is the answer to this one. He won the championship in his first 3 seasons.

Marquez easily

then Pedrosa, Lorenzo/Rossi for 3rd and hopefully Iannone who's once again demonstrated a nice race pace. Repsol Honda are currently unmatchable in my opinion.

All about the start tomorrow then?

If Jorge doesn't get the holeshot, what's stopping Marquez roaring off down the road, leaving the best of the rest to fight for 2nd place?
