MotoGP Argentina: Another clean sweep weekend for Marquez

Marc Marquez has ignited paddock speculation that he’s looking to complete the perfect year in MotoGP, as he makes it three from three to win easily in Argentina. The young Spaniard didn’t have the race all his own way, however, with a fierce battle in the opening stages seeing him back in seventh after a poor start, while Jorge Lorenzo cleared...

Very exciting but

no huge surprises:  JL does better, PD not quite, Bautista drops out, Smith respectable, Redding below par, Iannone finding his groove, MM is just a bad-a$s.

Watching the race I like that track more that I thought I would.  A bit unusual.

Rossi bags the points

Its a pity Rossi's tyre self destructed quite so badly at the last round as he would be sitting on a pretty good points haul now behind the mercurial MM.

Its a long season, and anything can happen, particularly when you ride the bike as hard as MM does.

As soon as MM got behind JLo it was all just so ineveitable.

Another amazing ride form the boy wonder as he easily pulled a gap and more or less cruised to victory. I honestly can't see either DP or Jlo beating MM by trying to go away at the front this year even when they do have the pace all MM has to do is sit behind them for half a dozen laps learn what their doing then go faster he just seems that unstoppable. Even the commentators are starting to say their only chance is to rough him up a bit, but how? Maybe if the gloves come off JLo and DP can force MM back into traffic on the first few laps but that means they have to slow the pace for the whole race. That's surely a risky stratedy but they can't afford to allow him the gap to make up time and hunt them down.

-I'd imagine Bautista isn't exactly flavour of the month in his garage given another DNF

-Good to see agression from the Ducatis although being on softer rubber than the other factories they were always going to fade - ride of the day goes to Crazy joe IMO.

-For a new track this Circuit certainly seemed to bring the fight out in a number of riders great to see long may it continue. Given another couple of seasons this could be one of the real corkers on the calender.

-For those saying the season proper starts in Jerez and we will have to wait till then to see where everyone is at I would say it's now fairly obvious where everyone is at - Playing catch up to MM.

So, until VR wins and is on the podium constantly I'm not gonna be satisfied and today's race is bitter sweet for VR. Yet the good thing is that looking ahead, he's in, matching JL and actually, one can infer, outpacing him.

VR's fault to have had bad qualy and being caught up earlier on with SB and al, yet, the numbers below show something very positive indeed.

Agreed, without this "Bradl incident" he would have been 3rd.

Andrea Ianonne, what a rider this dude is. He is and i am afraid always will be an inconsistent rider. Even in Moto2 he could take on MM in a fair batle and win sometimes( this was on a Speed/up frame, not close to Kalex and Suters), but would struggle to ride top6 the next race. I really do hope either Ducati becomes a factor, or Yamaha and Honda give Ianonne a chance. He won't win a Gp championship, but i reckon he might win a race or 2. The Maniac Joe is a great rider.

I haven't seen the race yet, so I don't know what happened to Rossi in the early part of the race. But looking at the lap times he seemed to struggle more than the others in the early part of the race but was steaming in the latter and then was constantly 0.25secs faster than JL for many laps.
