Dani Pedrosa remains keen on new Honda deal

Dani Pedrosa remains adamant his priority is to remain an official factory Honda rider in 2015. The Spaniard has been linked with a lucrative switch to lead Suzuki’s new 1000cc project, but he is keen to secure a new deal with HRC, despite the prospect of having to take a big pay cut. Serious talks between Honda and Pedrosa will kick off...

Dani will stay

With Marquez on the form he is on at the moment there is no way that HRC are going to risk upsetting him by giving him a team mate who may beat him. Dani is the best option for the Repsol team now as he is consistant and can battle for second place, they cannot ask for more than that.

For sure. Would be awesome though ;-) Methinks the next few years will be a MM procession. I've got (a little) bet going on MM winning every race.. lets see!

Dani + MM

It's a great combination, Honda know they can't do better than that, so let's hope they resign Dani.

Damn straight, JW

After an empty 8 tries, I'd be looking for another pilot.  They are holding four Aces with MM.  Taking a risk with a new rider now would be easy.

A risk?

Just for the hell of it? Who with?

As JW said on the other thread, Moto2 is full of rookies who aren't there yet, and old codgers who never will be. Moto3 looks promising but they've got a lot of learning to do.

Motogp? Well it might have been Lorenzo had he not had a mini implosion.

Aliens are aliens because they have the backing of the factory.

You, me and God himself has no idea whether Pol, Dovi, Scott, Brad and a few others wouldn't be alien material given the level of support of the present aliens.

Dani's wasted 8 years on that bike, ok the first 4 years might be Honda being hopeful the fragile one will last a season but the last 4 and this one is Honda employing a known number 2.

Many more deserving riders of that seat but Honda need a number 2 and Dani is it in a nutshell, even if he gets close they know he'll break something or someone will break him.

Luck isn't in the bag of skills of a GP rider, Dani just courts bad luck and no amount of seasons can change that.

Honda saw him as the next big thing, powerful bikes with a lightweight jockey, might have worked with anyone but glass skeleton Pedrosa.

Equal machinery

It is impossible to say who would be alien status if they all had the same spec bikes.. I can say this though there would be plenty of high sides and broken bones for the lesser riders.. Just ask any rookie in their debut factory year!!
